Odalische 706.81 is the vase designed by Leonardo Ranucci for Venini in 2009: an elegant and sinuous form, hand-blown using the refined Opalino technique. The Odalische collection includes three models in different sizes.
The Opalino technique begins with lattimo, a milky-white glass invented in Murano during the 15th century to imitate fine porcelain. The effect is achieved by layering thin, colored transparent glass over the white base. For more luxurious versions, gold or silver leaf is applied over the entire surface, creating splendid "Aurati" finishes.
