Vecchio Ginori | Richard Ginori 1735

The sinuous style of Vecchio Ginori porcelain has its roots in the 18th century. A common descriptor for this shape was "alla sassone," referring to the distinctive bordering of porcelain sets. This term, originating from the German tradition, was based on porcelains with reliefs similar to those of woven baskets, called "ozier" in Italian, translating to "wicker basket." This heritage, preserved in our Ginori 1735 house in Doccia, has withstood the test of time, showcasing the greatness and intrinsic strength of this decorative motif. The master craftsmen of the Manifattura have immortalized this motif, refining the weaves and lines, creating a sinuous and timeless design.
