SET OF 2 COFFEE CUPS WITH LIDS 9176, CATENE NERO 1255 - RICHARD GINORI
Set of two coffee cups with lids and saucers, with a Ginori Empire shape.
The "Catene Nero" collection is inspired by a sketch made by Gio Ponti for Ginori dating back to 1926. In the late 1920s, his strict-looking designs sparked a minor revolution. His geometrical arrangements broke with the very playful conventions which dominated the fashion in porcelain at that time.
The Ginori "Black Chain" dinnerware is decorated with a surprisingly eye-catching design reminiscent of rectangular links of a chain coupled to each other. The black links of the chain are rendered with an exciting contrast to the pure white of the porcelain. The platinum refinement of the design gives the Catene Nero dinnerware a sumptuous character. The interlacing chains represent an unbreakable union between people, whether they are friends or family.
Even today, every single piece is handmade in Italy by true masters of their craft.
